Description
ChimeraX uses the desktop's choice of color scheme for it's UI elements. There needs to be a startup setting with three choices: (a) use the desktop's choice of light or dark, (b) force light, (c) force dark. Right now, ChimeraX can only force light or dark on the command line.

In the next ChimeraX daily build, there is a GUI setting for setting the "Window color scheme", which is a platform-independent way of saying the UI's color appearance. Bring up the the Favorites / Settings dialog, select the Window category, and then choose your Window color scheme. The default is to use the system setting. You can also force light or dark mode.
