Description
This may not be avoidable (how can you distinguish it from cases where the user wants the chain-trace pseudobond?), but reporting in case you have ideas:
open 1zik
show :2-3 & sidechain
... you can see an additional stick-style pbond between the CA atoms. This could also occur, for example, when "reveal true" with H-bonds or contacts shows adjacent sidechains but not their backbone atoms.

That's the general plan. Will have to look into the gory details to determine feasibility.

Chain traces are no longer shown if both residues have ribbon depictions
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
Would it make sense to suppress chain-trace pseudobonds wherever both residues have their ribbon shown? Is there any situation where you'd want both chain-trace *and* ribbon for the same residues?
