Unfortunately the Qt window toolkit on Mac with multiple displays sometimes has problems when the computer sleeps and wakes or when displays are unplugged or plugged in. We have not seen these problems in the ChimeraX daily build which uses a newer version of the Qt window toolkit (6.9 instead of 6.8) so you could try the daily build if these errors happen often.
