Whenever I issue a command, I get this error. Also, some commands are missing such as the "define attribute" command that should be under tools>structure analysis

Hi Phoebe,

Thanks for reporting this problem. Did this behavior just recently start happening? I see you are using version 1.8, so it seems you have had ChimeraX installed for awhile. Has this been happening the whole time?
It seems that for some reason you don't have permission to create files in C:\Users\zzml4925\AppData\Local\UCSF\ChimeraX. Perhaps you could check on your permissions for that folder and ensure you have permission to create files there.
In ChimeraX (unlike Chimera) there is no "Define Attribute" tool that you would find in the Tools→Structure Analysis menu. You can open a ".defattr" file to define attributes, as described here: ​https://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/formats/defattr.html
