Dear Team I am reaching out to report an issue with installing UCSF ChimeraX on Debian 12. I attempted to install both the Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 versions, but encountered unmet dependencies: libffi7 and libssl1.1. These libraries are deprecated in Debian 12, where newer versions (libffi8 and libssl3) are used instead but chimerax canŽt use the new ones. To proceed with the installation, I had to manually source libffi7 and libssl1.1 from the Debian Bullseye repositories, which is not an ideal workaround and may cause compatibility issues. Could you consider updating the ChimeraX dependencies to support Debian 12 or provide guidance on a recommended setup for users on this OS? Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sorry, the problem is on versions fo ubuntu22 and 20 but version 24 has another problem, GLIBC. In Debian12 is version 2.36 but chimerax requires 2.38. I installed Glibc-2.38 but chimerax still dont find it, anyway i gave up this version of unbuntu24. --- Luciano Pinho Gomes IOC - FIOCRUZ Brasil - Rio de Janeiro Av. The debian package for GLIBC is called libc6. Ubuntu 24.04 has version 2.39.
Unfortunately we can't support every Linux variation. But the flatpak version of ChimeraX should work for you. Please try it.

Anexed a print of the version... I had already solved the problem installing versions for ubuntu 22 or 20 with library of Debian11 (bullseye). Can you double check installing of the Ubuntu 24.04 deb? It uses libffi8.
