From googling "fatal credentials.cc check failed", it appears to be an interaction between the Nvidia drivers and the particular Linux kernel. Please try uninstalling the Nvidia drivers, that is, revert back to the nouveau driver. Then fully upgrade your system, followed by reinstalling the Nvidia driver.
