Install/uninstall issue

Description
If the ubuntu-24.04 version of chimeraX is installed on ubuntu 22.04 derivatives, note that the package becomes impossible to uninstall without manual `rm -rf`ing of the installation directories.
`dpkg -i ~/Downloads/<new-chimera-version>.deb` will return an "dpkg: error processing package ucsf-chimerax: installed ucsf-chimerax package pre-removal script subprocess returned error exit status 1", and `sudo dpkg --purge --force-all ucsf-chimerax` gives: dpkg: error processing package ucsf-chimerax (--purge): installed ucsf-chimerax package pre-removal script subprocess returned error exit status 127. I was not able to get dpkg or apt to provide more info.

This isn't a bug per se, but it is an easy mistake to make, and is very hard to fix without some technical knowledge. If possible, it would be ideal to have installation chimera for the wrong OS-version fail less catastrophically.
