Description
Rendering 5a5b (84000 atoms) with ribbon and stick renders only at 11 frames per second ("turn y 1 600" took 53 seconds) but gives 60 frames/sec only stick and 60 frames/sec only ribbon. These times are without side view showing. With side view, the frame rates are half these values.
I would expect ribbon and stick together to render at 60 frames/second.
Maybe the slow down is related to switching shaders many times during one draw. I don't see how that would happen.

Retried this test on a newer Mac laptop with larger system 4v88, ribbon seems to have little impact on stick rendering time. Interestingly showing ribbon made rendering faster (15 fps -> 20 fps) probably because the backbone stick display was hidden reducing the number atoms as bonds shown.
Did not see any other performance oddities.
Same problem in current build, January 28, 2016.
