#14728 feedback defect

Cannot open cxc files from terminal with daily release

Description

To whom it may concern,

I downloaded the chimeraX daily release for MAC, I am running Sonoma 14.3, set up an alias in my zshrc to allow me to lunch from the terminal, and tried to open a cxc file. (> chimera name.cxc &) The program launches starts to load the file and then crashes with a segmentation fault. However, I can launch chimeraX_daily then copy and paste the file contents into the chimera command line with no errors.

I have been doing this for quite some time with older versions 1.4 -1.7 with no errors.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for reporting this problem. Opening a session from the shell works for me. Can you try it with the session I’ve attached and let me know if that crashed for you or not? Thanks!
