The movie recording failed for a few reasons. First "movie crossfade" cannot be used until the movie has recorded at least one frame, the starting frame that the crossfade begins with. So you would need "movie record ; wait 1 ; movie crossfade ; ...". Then your "wait" command at the end needs to specify an explicit number of frames, for example "wait 25". The wait command with no frames specified only works when a previous move/turn/roll command specified some number of frames. So for example the following works:
