Description

I say "sometimes" because I don't always see it, but "no matter what" because when it happens, it is impossible to make it go away!

e.g. image attached from after using the following commands:

open 1zik
show :tyr
label :tyr
label background none

Fixed.

This bug was introduced from the fix a week or two ago of labels with onTop false not showing through transparent surfaces.
