It appears that ChimeraX 1.7 crashed trying to use OpenGL graphics. Does this crash happen every time you try to start 1.7 or just this one time? I see ChimeraX was trying to update the available bundles at the time of the crash and maybe somehow that separate thread caused the crash. If that was the cause I would expect it to startup correctly other times when it is not updating the list of available plugins.

I see you reported this bug with ChimeraX 1.6.1 so apparently that older version starts. I don't know of any significant differences in the OpenGL use in ChimeraX 1.7 and 1.6.1 so I would expect both to exhibit the same problems.
