My guess is they have a different Intel RealSense camera such as the newer L515 lidar camera and something ChimeraX is requesting is not supported on that (resolution, ...). There are many posts online about this error, for example,

When I try "realsense on" in ChimeraX 1.6.1 on Windows 10 with the realsense bundle installed but no camera connected it gives the error "No devices connected". When I try it with the Intel RealSense D435 connected it works correctly.

I won't be able to debug this without having the L515 camera.
