UCSF Chimera Release Schedule (rough)

This is a list of upcoming releases and some of our thinking about what features we are hoping to include. Of course, the further down you go, the more tentative the dates and feature list becomes.

Release 1.3 (December, 2008)

1. Vista graphics driver workarounds
2. New OpenGL debugging panel

Future Releases

This is a list of possible features for future releases that are currently being discussed, or have been specifically requested, but which have not (yet) been added to the development schedule.

1. Chimera Extension Manager. The idea is to have a repository of extensions that users could load (or not) from within Chimera. They should be able to see what extensions (and verions) are available, which extensions (and versions) they currently have installed, and they should be able to load an extension from the tool. Cytoscape implemented something like this for the 2.5 release and it has been very popular. They provide download statistics to contributors for grant reporting, etc.
