• School and department cost cutting
  • The school of pharmacy has a deficit, ~$10 million
  • The department of pharmaceutical chemistry has to cut expenses because of the deficit.
  • Pharm Chem layed of Matt Denny who handles many of our purchases and one other admin employee who we do not work with.

• UCSF purchasing at Amazon
  • BearBuy now supports purchasing some items from Amazon.
  • Some lab member received email saying the have an Amazon account with a ucsf.edu email address that should be converted to a UCSF Amazon business account if it is for UCSF purchases.

• chimerax-users email is bouncing
  • Some ChimeraX mailing list email is bouncing saying "554 5.5.0 Remote protocol error (Line too long (see RFC5321 4.5.3.1.6))"
  • Greg is looking into it and will try updating the mailing list Mailman software from PyPi.

• Mikhail Kouzminov ChimeraX programming volunteer
  • At developer meeting on Monday we Mikhail joined us.
  • We proposed he port ViewDockX from html to Qt.
  • He says he can work 20 hours per week on it, and will try.

• ChimeraX PyPi library licensing
  • Should we dual license the chimerax library gpl/commercial or go with lgpl?
  • Decided LGPL was simpler and more flexible for developers and would likely not reduce ChimeraX licensing revenue.
  • Discussed updating source code file header to reference new license.
  • Discussed omitting toolshed and user command support from the library.

• Scooter work in progress
  • Ran out of time. Scooter will present his work at next group meeting.
