Discussion Notes

• Plato server operating system update
  • Eric needs to update backup scripts from Python 2 to 3.
  • A ChimeraX web update script is still broken, probably python 2
  • Tom Ferrin and Greg will talk about getting Topo 2 web pages online.

• Phenix R24 fit_loops command
  • Eric implementing ChimeraX command for Phenix fit_loops developed by Tom Terwilliger.
  • Takes 3 minutes to run typical example with 1 core.
  • Should be able to run with multiple cores but option is not working.
  • Eric is sending other bugs to Phenix team.
  • Plan is to make a gui interface after command is working.
  • GUI will have many fewer than the 50 options of the Phenix command.

• Phenix R24 emplace_local command
  • Randy Read has enhanced his fitting command emplace_local so it can work with a single map instead of two half maps. Less reliable, requires resolution.
  • Eric is adapting ChimeraX command and GUI to handle this case.

• ChimeraX improvements
  • Eric described several ChimeraX improvements in his slides.

Action Items

• Clean up VirtualHosts on our web servers -- Greg/Scooter
• Document new vpn setup on Linux -- Scooter
