Discussion
- Chimera 1.13
- Greg will make release on Monday, July 2
- ChimeraX
- Documentation and tutorial strategy
- Bundle-specific documentation should be placed into
docs
directory in package - Bundle-specific documentation should be kept in bundle
- Bundle-specific documentation should be placed into
- Linux installers for ChimeraX
- Greg is working on Debian (apt-get, deb) packaging for 0.7
- Dependencies are essentially complete
- Separate installers for different versions of Ubuntu, which is the only tested platform
- Download page will say for Ubuntu
- Still working on post-install and uninstall scripts
- Make "rpm" and "apt-get" with dependencies
- Check for available dependent packages on CentOS 7, Fedora 28, Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04
- Target Redhat/Fedora for 0.8
- Also make tar file for
desperateindependently minded users
- Greg is working on Debian (apt-get, deb) packaging for 0.7
atomic
is now a bundle- Linux build has not succeeded yet
- Reinstalling atomic does not work due to in-use shared objects (on Windows)
- Release 0.7 target date: July 23
wrappy3
is used only for mmCIF- Retire wrappy and keep generated wrapper as source and wrappy DLL/shared object for linking
- Remove dependency on DLL later
- PyQt 5.11 - available as of 6/23
- Wait until after 0.7 release
- Vulkan is a good "age discriminator" for computer age
- Good idea, not right now, further investigation needed
- Documentation and tutorial strategy
Action Items
- Greg will take wrappy3 out of the build
- Greg will make Chimera 1.13 release on Monday, July 2
- Everyone make sure that ChangeLog is up to date
- Conrad and Greg will figure out how to organize documentation so that the primary copy stays in bundles but editing is not too cumbersome
- Conrad will create ticket listing stable APIs
