  • Release 0.7

Discussion

  • Documentation and tutorial strategy
    • Distribute Sphinx meta data as part of app to facilitate building bundle documentation
    • Tristan will be our first guinea pig, writing both user and developer documentation for ISOLDE
  • Release 0.7
    • We reviewed milestones
    • Several linux-related tickets can be addressed by container-izing ChimeraX so that required libraries are included in the distribution. "Flat Pack" APIs is currently the most popular container system. Greg will investigate using this API and provide a demo at our CDM two weeks from now. There is some concern over the size of ChimeraX distribution if all libraries must be included.
  • Chimera 1.13 release
    • Update to Python 2.7.14 beforehand
    • Switch to modern openssl on Mac builds to avoid TLS 1.1 problems
    • Additional tools menu now being tested -- couple more days
    • Very close to including new rotamer library too
    • Several changes to Vina remote job submission code have been incorporated to prevent users from doing stupid things that cause very long run times
    • Goal: have a release candidate up by the end of next week
