Discussion
- Chimera 1.11 Release
- Reverted to Tk 8.6.1- (same as Chimera 1.10.2) and fixed menu problem on Mac
- Wait another two weeks before finalizing
- Windows ChimeraX builds
- Greg has made it work
- Uses Qt installer and PyQt "licensed wheel" builder to get Qt in ChimeraX.app
- Qt will eventually be part of the build environment rather than ChimeraX prereq
- Need to address problems currently fixed by patching
- PyQt status
- Version 5.6.1 (released a few days ago) needs to be tested
- PyQt is being built as commercial version, not GPL
- We can start distributing Qt version after we get license text in place
- We cannot nuke wx until Qt version is available
- Need download web interface that asks for agreement to license
- Command/help URLs
- We will switch to using http for executing commands and showing help
- Registering for schemes (cxcmd, cxhelp) may be added later for convenience after security concerns are addressed
Outstanding Action Items
- TomF will get answers for ChimeraX license
- Eric will create ticket for converting from cxcmd: to http: scheme in web viewer
- Greg will find out whether we can get code signing certificate with our unit name in it
- Greg will find out from IT whether they are willing to sign ChimeraX with their new EV cert
