Discussion

• Chimera 1.11 Release
  • Tk-based crashes are the biggest (only?) outstanding problem preventing release
  • Move to official Tk 8.6.5 release and test with that
  • If still get crashes try host-specific patches
  • Move on from there
• Windows ChimeraX builds
  • Greg has made a lot of progress, mostly to do with Makefile changes and linking changes
  • Many of the 3rd party packages we use are available as binaries
  • The way shared libraries are loaded has changed and we need to do something different than we do on Mac and Linux
• PyQt status
  • Version 5.6 (released a few days ago) has problems because of changes in the release
  • OpenGL context now has to be set up before the Qt app is initialized. This means multisampling is even less likely to work in the future.
  • Qt web pages work differently too
  • Not sure if there are additional hurdles lurking
• License discussion tabled until a future meeting
