Hi Nils,
I agree with you. The horizontal scrolling with a Mac mouse scroll
ball should movethe panels left and right rather than long file names in
a single panel left and right. The long file name scrolling is less
common and can be done by the usual mouse drag on the scrollbar. I'll
see if Eric Pettersen who wrote the Open dialog code agrees and will put
it on his feature request list. I think we haven't noticed this at our
lab even though most of us use Macs because we all use non-Mac 3-button
mice.
