[Chimera-users] changing selection color

Hi Mike,
You can change the color of the selection outline in the Preferences
(Favorites... Preferences, switch to category: Background, change
"selection highlight color").
There is no user interface way to change the thickness of the
selection outline. Maybe one of the others can suggest where to edit
the code. Alternatively, you could use a separate image processing
program to thicken the outline after saving the image from Chimera.
A few years ago I ran into the same issue making a figure for a
paper. I wanted to show the selection outline, but because the image
was high resolution and I was supersampling, it turned out very
thin. I no longer remember exactly what I did, but I think there was
some capability in Photoshop to make the outline thicker (something
to do with "trace" perhaps?). It followed the existing line
automatically, I didn't have to hand-draw it. Other programs might
have a similar feature.
I hope this helps,
Elaine
