Action Items

• Conrad will work on HHMI DVD script for Chimera
• TomF will get Chimera session files for HHMI DVD
• Greg will try to reliably reproduce Chimera crashes on Mac
• Greg will send mail to chimera-users asking about Mac crashes (after Elaine edits the message)
• Greg will test "instancing" and report on performance
• Eric will follow up with submitters on empty bug reports
• TomG will send mail to Matt regarding manipulating stereo parameters

Items

1. 1.5 release schedule
   • If no showstopper bugs are reported this week, we release next Monday
2. Crashes on Macs
   • Chimera crashes on Macs due to Apple OpenGL driver bug(s)
   • Crashes usually occur in either ribbon rendering or saving image
   • Users have a chance to report bug to Apple after application crash
   • Users have a chance to report bug to us on restarting Chimera
   • 10.6.5 has not fixed the bug
   • Greg will try to create a crash scenario
3. Slow rendering on Macs
   • After much discussion, the consensus is that the hardware/drivers vary too much such that making improvements in one configuration may not help in another
   • Greg will test "instancing" and report on performance
4. Chimera bug report process
   • We are still getting empty reports, but Eric will follow up on ones with contact information
5. Stereo parameter animation
   • TomG and TomF suggest that a workaround for manipulating stereo parameters graphically may be sufficient for now for Matt's needs
   • TomG will send mail to Matt informing him of mouse manipulation of stereo parameters in sideview, and query about USB interface options
