= Discussion Notes =

* Pharm Chem faculty talk
  - Tom Ferrin and Scooter talked about the lab history and current work at a Pharm Chem faculty lunch.
  - Aashish Manglik asked how the faculty could support the ChimeraX effort.
  - Charlie Craik recruited lab members to see sars-cov-2 main protease in VR.
  - John Gross also enthusiastic and interested in alphafold visualization.

* Quest 3 headset
  - Scooter resubmitted our Quest 3 order and it is in progress.

* Computer downtime plans, Scooter
  - Plato will be down for 2 days Monday Oct 30 and Tuesday.
  - BeeGFS will be updated, new disks also, new switch, Rocky 8 on wynton nodes, many other updates.
  - Wynton cluster will be down from Monday until possibly Friday.
  - Wynton audit security testing on Thursday and Friday and possibly on the weekend.
  - Would like to have the ChimeraX and Chimera and Toolshed web sites direct to a page saying "Down for maintenance".
  - Each plato node has local 4 TByte SSD drive.  Possible to move services from BeeGFS to local, but complicated especially if data is written.  Not worth the effort.
  - For future plato updates, usually we will be able to update one node at a time so there is no downtime.
