* March monthly report for NTT Data contract
  - Scooter will be sending draft to be submitted end of month
  - Use same color for all past accomplishments, new color for latest.

* Native Apple Silicon ChimeraX
  - Ben Webb described Modeller port to Apple M1 in email
  - Some users have asked about native version
  - Would need Apple M1 machine to try to compile and get all dependencies built
  - All dynamic libraries must be for ARM CPU, cannot mix Intel
  - Hold up buying Apple M1 is because UCSF is auditing computer purchases.
  - Tom F will ask Andrej Sali how he purchased Mac Mini M1
  - Greg says Intel and ARM Mac builds could be in one universal distribution
  - Current Mac distribution is 400 Mbytes and nearly doubling that will make it very slow to download, so might want two distributions.

* CZI Essential Software RFA
  - Letter of intent due March 30, final submission May 17
  - What can we put into a CZI proposal that would not go into R01?
    - Port opal chimera web services to rest chimerax
    - Port to apple silicon
    - other porting of some chimera tools
  - Budget 50-200K / year for two years
  - Could ask for 0.5 FTE for better chance at funding.
  - Make Google Doc for proposal ideas, if sufficient ideas by Monday submit letter of intent on Tuesday

* New hire
  - Still need advise from HR about how to post job

* R01 proposal
  - Next week group meeting dedicated to writing specific aims
  - Tom Ferrin says aim to "support current users" could cause reviewer to say this is not R01 material -- so needs careful presentation
  - Enabling outside developers to make innovative new tools is better and can be treated as innovation
