Hello,
in the end I figured out that the problem was due to the "Sim Fidelity", which is set to "High" by default. Changing it to "Quick" solved the problem.
For the moment, I did not follow up further, whether the "High"
mode is just infinitely slow, or whether it really crashes, or
whether there were other problems as well.
I did not check either whether there is is a problem in the
underlying installation so that the GPU is no longer used
correctly. I may come back to you.
I think it would be good to put a warning in the ISOLDE doc about these different modes and to suggest to use by default the "Quick" mode.
Thank you very much for your quick answer and the suggestions.

To test for the latter, try "isolde demo crystal_intro" and see if that will start. -- Ticket URL: <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/trac/ChimeraX/ticket/5010#comment:3> ChimeraX <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/> ChimeraX Issue Tracker
