[Chimera-users] Reassign chain ID letters

Sorry, there is no option to reassign chain IDs randomly. There is a “changechains” command and a “Change Chain IDs” GUI where you have to specify the current chain ID and the new chain ID:

Actually, Chimera may not even understand number chain IDs, but I don’t have an example to try right now. The documentation currently says that chain IDs are alphabetical characters.
