Hi Dmitry,
I was about to write an answer but then I noticed the whole explanation of how to do it is in the link that you sent!
So just open your original map and show the whole thing as an isosurface (which is the default when you open it anyway), open the local-resolution map, and follow the instructions in that link. :-)
