[Chimera-users] Hiding AutoDock Vina Search Volume (frame)

Hi Leif,
Short answer:
Without selecting it, you can just hide it from the Model Panel (open from Favorites menu). Uncheck the “S” box (S for Shown) for the model named AutoDock Vina Search Volume. This just hides the whole model, and you can check the box to show it again.
Additional explanation:
The ability to select it can be thought of as a (possibly confusing) side effect of its being treated as atoms and bonds. So the alternative is to use Select -> Chains -> (no ID) to select these “atoms” and then Actions… Atoms/Bonds… hide. (The purpose of using Select menu is to create a selection for the Actions menu.) Then although the model is shown, the “atoms” are hidden, so to show them again, if they’d gotten deselected in the meanwhile, you’d have to select the same way as before, which will be invisible, and then use Atoms… Atoms/Bonds… show.
I hope this helps,
Elaine
