[Chimera-users] error saving scene with independent rotation

Hi Yanhe,
Normally I would say to use “Report a Bug” in the Help menu (or “Report Bug” button on the error dialog), but in this case it is a known problem that has been reported by others. This chimera-users list is mostly for asking questions, not reporting bugs.
Currently you can still make a movie with independent rotation in it, but not using scenes. Instead you’d use a Chimera command script. Positions (including independent rotation) can be saved and restored with commands “savepos” and “reset,” but you’d have to use coloring and display commands instead of using scenes that already include color/display settings. It can be more work to make a command script than to use the Animation dialog, but perhaps not that much if your movie is not complicated.
The “making movies” page includes links to some example movie command scripts.

Sorry about the problem,
Elaine
