Hi Nina,
Chimera cannot read MTZ (structure factor) files. You need to convert them to a map (e.g. CCP4 or MRC file). You could do this with Phenix, search for mtz2map to find out how.
If you are interested in atomic model refinement in a map (better than 3 Angstroms resolution) you might want to look at the ISOLDE plugin for our next generation ChimeraX program. You would install ChimeraX and then use menu Tools / More Tools… to install ISOLDE.
