Dear Samaha Th,
The correct e-mail address for questions is chimera-users at cgl.ucsf.edu (see CC) not chimera-bugs.
The message means exactly what it says. You have chosen an option to save multiple files, so you have to enter a name that includes either “$number” or “$name” so that it can make multiple names. For example, if you had models #1 and #2 in Chimera and you entered the name
myfile$number.pdb
…you would get two files, one named myfile1.pdb and one named myfile2.pdb. If you only want one file, then don’t choose the “multiple files” option in the Save dialog.
