[Chimera-users] Upgrade chimera?

Sorry, that's not possible for Chimera.  Chimera uses MMTK for energy 
minimization and molecular dynamics, and from the MMTK website, 
https://bitbucket.org/khinsen/mmtk:

> MMTK is NOT compatible with NumPy 1.9 or later, because it relies on a 
> submodule of NumPy that was removed in version 1.9.
So upgrading numpy will break other functionality within Chimera. If 
you're not using energy minimization nor molecular dynamics, you can try 
updating your copy of Chimera's numpy as described recently in Jaime 
Rodríguez-Guerra's reply, 
http://plato.cgl.ucsf.edu/pipermail/chimera-users/2016-November/012852.html, 
to your previous question on chimera-users.

ChimeraX, our in-development successor to Chimera, does use the latest 
numpy.  ChimeraX's availability will be announced on the 
chimera-announce mailing list.
