[Chimera-users] joining two peptides or proteins

Hello,
I’m guessing you actually want to form a bond between the two.  If you have opened the two structures from two different files (so that they are separate models), you can connect the N-term of one peptide or protein to the C-term of the other using the Join Models section of Build Structure (menu: Tools… Structure Editing… Build Structure, change to the Join Models section of that dialog, chose “C-N peptide bond” option). First you should change the display from ribbons to atoms (for example, menu: Presets… Interactive 2 (all atoms)) so that you can select just the two backbone atoms to be joined, the C atom of the C-terminal residue of one protein and the N atom of the N-terminal residue of the other.
