[Chimera-users] 3D dashed lines

For raytraced output, dashed lines are converted into multiple tiny
cylinders, but there is a bug in the algorithm where it doesn't take
into account the current scale factor, so you might end up with too many
dashes.

A temporary workaround is when saving a raytraced image to first change
the POV-ray options to save the input files, then abort the raytracing
and edit the image.pov file and change the second-to-the-last argument
to the Dashes macro to the number of dashes you want and then run povray
by hand:

     povray +Iimage.pov +Oimage.png image.ini

If povray isn't on your path, then you will need to give the full path.
And if you use chimera's povray on Linux and Mac OS X, you need set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, ie., if CHIMERA is the top of the chimera hierarchy, then:

     LD_LIBRARY_PATH=CHIMERA/lib CHIMERA/bin/povray +Iimage.pov
+Oimage.png image.ini

I'll try to get a fix into the daily builds soon.

     Greg
