I've only seen this error on computers with Intel graphics.  You need to 
go to <http://downloadcenter.intel.com/> and use the Graphics menu item on 
the lefthand side to pick the type of graphics you have.

In your case, the Gateway MT6821 has the Intel 945GM, so the link would be 
<http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2301&lang=eng>. 
The lastest version of the driver for Windows XP is 14.32.4.4926 and was 
released on 2/15/2008.  And there is an even newer version for Windows 
Vista.  While the version from Gateway is 7.14.10.1147 from 4/24/2007.
