Looking at the Maya documentation, it has a VRML2 importer and that is the
VRML format chimera exports (also known as VRML97). So that's the best
match for Maya. Chimera's X3D output is the XML version, not the VRML3
version, and so is very different. If anyone is interested in writing
other exporters for chimera, please contact me and/or send email to the
chimera-dev mailing list.
