[Chimera-users] Problems in Windows XP

Hi Jutta,
I guess I need some clarification. Is the file you are opening a
structure, or a sequence alignment? Is the "sequence window" you refer
to an alignment shown in the Multalign Viewer tool, or a structure
sequence as shown by the "sequence" button of the model panel?
We have encountered a case before where opening a sequence alignment
on a Windows machine caused the MAV window to resize itself forever.
We were never able to reproduce it on a machine in our lab and
therefore haven't found a fix, but we did find a workaround: open a
_different_ sequence alignment [the resize loop only occurred for one
particular alignment], then use MAV's Preferences->Layout menu entry to
change the font size to something different. You should then be able
to open the problem alignment without going into a resize loop.
I don't know if the previous paragraph applies to your situation or
not. If not, let me know the answers to my initial questions and we'll
go from there.
