has OpenGL version 4.6. I don't get any warning when launching ChimeraX in my VM. My Oracle VirtualBox version is 6.1.26 r145957. I've only used it couple of times, and I don't recall changing any settings. I don't know why it works for me and not you, but
let me know if I can share additional info or settings.

Like Greg said, ChimeraX's performance on my VM is not great. I only used this VM to figure out why menus on my bundle's tools weren't appearing for some users. The Ubuntu desktop environment I installed (Unity) is one of the desktop
environments with a magical setting that made my menus disappear. I don't think I'd recommend using a VM outside of debugging things like this if you can run a native version of ChimeraX.
