<p>Try using the Browser Configuration tool in Tools / Utilities to
reset the file type associations to the current Chimera. That was
designed for Windows 7, but it might still work.<br>

I'm guessing you are using MacOS Catalina, for which this is a
known problem. Sorry, there is no Chimera setting to control
it. One possibility is to use ChimeraX instead, which does
not have this problem, but it depends on which tools/features
you are using. ChimeraX has the same map fitting and many
other things as Chimera. Some currently missing features are
listed in the ChimeraX download page.<br>
