Did you select the surface before using accelerator Sc? (It works on selected surfaces.) This type of splitting is somewhat of a hack in that it decouples the molecular surface from the corresponding atoms, so it wasn’t emphasized in the documentation.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">You can check to see whether the selected surface is really split by looking in the Selection Inspector (click green magnifying glass icon at lower right corner of Chimera window), inspect: MSMS surface, and see that the number of pieces >1.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The “visiblePatches” option was added to the command “surface” to make it easier to show only pockets without extra bits of surface around, but it still requires specifying the atoms involved</div><div class=""><<a href="http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/surface.html" class="">http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/surface.html</a>></div><div class=""> …. and I agree it isn’t as convenient as directly selecting the blob after splitting the surface.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I hope this helps,</div><div class="">Elaine</div><div class=""><div class="">-----<br class="">Elaine C. I can display the MSMS surface and split it into pieces (accelerator Sc), but then I need to select the extra surfaces to hide/delete them (starting with the main outer surface). For some reason surface picking with mouse (Ctrl + left click) doesn’t work. I checked the surface attributes and ‘selectable with mouse’ was true.<br class=""><br class="">I recall that this used to work some years ago, but not anymore. I am using the latest daily build (v1.13 build 41684) on macOS v10.12.6. Is this a bug or have some settings changed? I couldn’t find anything referring to this in the docs.<br class=""><br class="">Best regards,<br class="">Priit<br class=""></blockquote><br class=""></div></body></html>
