Then start Chimera and use Favorites->Add to Favorites/Toolbar to bring up the Tools preferences interface. In the "Locations" part of that panel use "Add…" to add the folder <i>above</i> the plugin (i.e. in the example, ~/chimera-plugins, rather than ~/chimera-plugins/ChimPlug). Click Save in the preferences dialog to have the change apply to future uses of Chimera rather than just your current session.
