Target setting, there is also a coloring target setting in Actions... Color. Make sure that you have it set to Actions... Color... all of the above. Then, to color both the atoms/bonds and ribbon of a residue of interest, there are some alternatives:</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>- select the whole residue, keep the default Target (Actions... Target... selected atoms/bonds), use Actions... Color... [pick a color]</DIV><DIV>-OR-</DIV><DIV>- select one atom or bond in the residue, set the Target to "selected residues" and use Actions... Color as above</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>If you only want to change the ribbon color, not the atoms/bonds colors, change the coloring target to Actions... Color... ribbons before coloring. I recommend changing it back to "all of the above" right after that.</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>I personally never change the Target from the default of "selected atoms/bonds" (because changing it can be confusing) and instead change my selection to include everything I want to act on before applying an Action.
