Hi Dmitry,
There is a bit more detail about it in the documentation.

See "resampling and loss of resolution" in the Notes, here for ChimeraX (but is same in Chimera):

Even if there is no rotation, if you are resampling, at least some of the grid points will be in different locations and interpolation will be done to get values at those points.
