[Chimera-users] how to get specific view

Hi Shuo,
Here are some related topics, but since I'm not a pymol user, I don't know if they are similar to pymol or not.

In Chimera:
You can use the "savepos" command to save a position, which is basically a view and can be restored with the "reset" command, but it is not saved when you quit unless you also save a session file. If you also save a session file, the positions are saved in that file, and after you restore the session, they can be restored with "reset."

You can use command "matrixget" to write the positions of the models to a file. Then later if you have the same structures open as the same model numbers, you can use "matrixset" to apply those positions from the file that was saved previously.

I hope this helps,
Elaine
