Hi Frankie,
It may have something to do with the mouse button settings on your PC.
The Chimera default assignment of selection is with Ctrl-click (mouse button 1 or touchpad), single not doubleclick. Usually button 1 is the primary click of your mouse, on the left side if your mouse has 2 or 3 buttons. Maybe your home PC thinks button 1 is on the right or middle of your mouse, so you could try each in combination with Ctrl and see if something works.
You could try to change mouse button settings on your PC. In Chimera, the only thing you can try is changing which mouse buttons are assigned to which functions in the Preferences (bottom of Favorites menu), category: Mouse.
If you can't anything that works for you, you could try using "Help... Report a Bug" from your home PC, including a short description of the problem and your email address if you want any response. That would automatically include more information about your computer, but we may not be able to do anything if the main issue is the settings on your PC.
Best,
Elaine
