Hi Jim,
Simply saving a map to a file after fitting will not save its new orientation, because the map file formats do not include rotation/translation information. However, you can create a new map on the grid of another map by resampling. For details, please see this section on "saving after fitting":

There is a "Transform Coordinates" tool (in menu under Tools... Movement) with which you can apply Euler angles if you already knew them, but the information above is probably more relevant to your situation.
