A few weeks ago I added support in Chimera for retina displays
(2880x1800 pixels) on Macbook Pro laptops. The recent Chimera builds
use the full resolution and produce beautifully smooth edges and text.
Older versions of Chimera will use only half the retina screen
resolution 1440x900, which is comparable to non-retina displays (~120
dots per inch). The attached image compares the old (left) and new
(right) graphics and text in a direct screen snapshot magnified by 2x.
The improvement is in Chimera daily builds and the Chimera 1.7 release
candidate.
