Hi Enrico,
There are several ways to do the same thing.
Hiding hydrogens but not deleting
(A) menu:
Select... Chemistry... element... H
Actions... Atoms/Bonds... hide
(B) commands:
~display element.H
Deleting hydrogens
(A) menu:
Select... Chemistry... element... H
Actions... Atoms/Bonds... delete
(B) commands:
delete element.H
I suggest you try going through a beginner's tutorial, for example:
<http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/Outreach/Tutorials/GettingStarted.html>
or the ones in the User's Guide (opened from the Chimera Help menu). Also you can search the documentation, menu Help... Search Documentation.
