Please report this bug with chimera's Help / Report a Bug dialog because 
that will tell us the versions of your graphics driver and operating 
system and help us narrow down where the bug occurs.  This bug sounds like 
one I'm currently working on and I hope to have it fixed by the end of the 
week.  Windows users do not appear to be affected.  When fixed, the "new 
and improved" image saving code should be faster and avoid problems with 
slightlly off-screen or obscured windows, and screen savers.
